Recruitment and enrollment for this demonstration project lasted approximately 18 months. Subjects were contacted at 3 and 6 months post-enrollment.
Approximately 342 participants are expected to enroll in this project.
Eligible subjects included HIV-infected individuals 18-years or older who test positive at the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Centers Sexual Health Programs.
All subjects received counseling and support at (or soon after) diagnosis that is resiliency-based, client-centered and results in actionable goals and immediate follow up and support as needed during period between diagnosis and linkage to care. Outreach intensity increased or decreased based on monitored linkage status until subjects are fully transitioned into care.
To capture the core components of the Linkage to Care services offered to all newly diagnosed individuals at LAGLC and evaluate the feasibility, acceptability and success rate in using these components for linking individuals to care within 3 months from diagnosis
To identify factors predicting rapid linkage to care and establishing overall costs associated with the intervention.
